ABOUT South Glos TSA
About the South Glos Teaching School Alliance
The South Glos Teaching School Alliance is a partnership of schools who are passionate about collaboration and school improvement.
The strategic partners consist of 10 like-minded schools; Mangotsfield CE VC Primary, Blackhorse Primary, Bromley Heath Junior, Bromley Heath Infant, Emersons Green Primary, Kings Forest Primary, Staple Hill, Stanbridge Primary, St Michaels CE Primary and St Stephens CE Junior Schools along with the LA and Diocese. All of the schools have their own strengths and areas of specialism which make our Alliance unique.
The TSA is passionate about helping primary schools achieve the best possible outcomes for all of their pupils. It is our vision that all children within our family and alliance will have a first-class, innovative education.
Teaching Schools are designated by the government and they are tasked with playing a greater role in school improvement in an increasingly school led system in 3 main areas which are:
training new entrants to the profession (School Direct)
continuing professional and leadership development (CPD)
school to school support (S2S)
identify and develop practitioners with leadership potential
offer specialist leaders of education (SLE’s) across the region
promote research and development in teaching and learning and to develop school based research
Working in collaborative partnerships, sharing effective practice and developing collective school improvement systems are the approaches South Glos TSA seeks to promote. South Glos TSA hopes to provide a vehicle for the promotion and development of what is already working well and could be shared more widely, as well as a forum for new collaborations to develop. We seek to complement the work of the Boolean Maths Hub, the Mangotsfield Primary English Hub as well of the work of other TSAs in the region and beyond.
